Hello! My name is Susan Shaver and I am a licensed acupuncturist. I have a passion for helping people to live a balanced and healthy life. I take the time to listen to you and get the complete picture of your current state of balance and what goals you are trying to obtain. I’ll work with you as you journey on your road to health, purpose and vitality. I love being able to help people realize their fullest potential in life…once the pain and reactions to stress are removed, a new vibrancy and purpose for your life will naturally unfold.
I got into acupuncture after dealing with my own personal health issues. After trying many different treatments that offered minimal relief, I became frustrated with the conventional medicine model. I never felt that the “whole me” was considered. The beauty of this medicine amazed and fascinated me and I found I was continually drawn in to learn more and more. I am still blown away by the power of this simple, natural and effective medicine. For more on my personal story click here.
I am Board Certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (Dipl. OM), licensed by the Board of Registration in Medicine (MA) and the Board of Acupuncture Licensing (NH) as a Licensed Acupuncturist (Lic. Ac.). I received my Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) in 2006 from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA), the oldest school in the US. I was honored to continue my herbal studies with four years of post-graduate internship at Pathways to Wellness with Dr. Tao Xie, my mentor and friend. I learned powerful, safe and effective remedies for insomnia, anxiety, fertility, digestive disorders and many more conditions.
I have been a teaching assistant at NESA since graduation in 2006, and in the fall of 2013 was excited to became a faculty member and expand my role at NESA. It is wonderful to be part of the future of Chinese Medicine in the US.
